New Regulation on Detergents and Cleaning Agents
On October 8, 2005, the Detergents Regulation came into force in the EU. Since then, manufacturers of detergents and cleaning agents – including nordesign – have been required to provide information about the ingredients of their products on the internet, thereby ensuring greater transparency for consumers.
Declaration on the Internet
Since October 8, 2005, manufacturers have been required to provide a list of ingredients for all products offered on their website. This list specifies the ingredients in descending order of their proportion in the final product. The clear assignment to the respective nordesign products is made via the product name and article number. This information is integrated into the title of the product data sheets and is also noted in the data sheet itself.
The ingredients of all nordesign products are stated on the data sheets using the so-called INCI names (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients). If an INCI name does not yet exist for a substance, the name from the European Pharmacopoeia or the chemical substance name is used.
The aim of the regulation is to increase transparency and standardize the rules for all EU countries. For example, all preservatives – regardless of their concentration in the product – as well as optical brighteners, enzymes, and certain fragrances must now be clearly declared on the product label.
